In brief

International work and projects for law students will be the focus of the sixth National Pro Bono Week, which kicks off on Monday. Over 30 events will take place nationwide, including the first joint National Pro Bono Conference. Law Society figures indicate that solicitors in private practice have given £338m worth of free legal advice during the past year. Barristers, legal executives and other legal professionals also offer pro bono advice in law centres, clinics and community centres. For more information, see www.probonouk.net.
