Pay gaps on record

Law firms should record data about disability, ethnicity and sexuality as well as gender to help them develop equality action plans and tackle pay gaps, the Law Society has suggested. It also recommends firms distinguish between equity and salaried partners in their records, and record any partner bonus scheme that can be compared with an employee bonus scheme. Law Society president Christina Blacklaws said: ‘We have worked with the profession to develop a common set of standards that provide the level of transparency expected by firms’ clients, people and the public.’
