Lend Lease GC joins Michelmores’ London real estate team

Michelmores has hired former Lend Lease General Counsel Patrick Gloyens as a partner.

At Lend Lease Patrick was responsible for all legal affairs throughout EMEA. He was principal legal adviser in relation to a number of large projects including the £1.26bn Athletes’ Village in the Olympic Park, the £1.5bn regeneration of Elephant and Castle and the recent Bluewater litigation in the Court of Appeal.

Prior to Lend Lease, Patrick was a partner in the commercial real estate group at Dechert LLP where he acted for Sears, as well as providing legal advice for a variety of developers and landowners, including Land Securities, Crown Estates and Nationwide Building Society.

Patrick’s appointment follows a spate of significant deals for Michelmores’ London Real Estate team which have included advising on the £370m sale of New Scotland Yard to Abu Dhabi Financial Group, the £200m regeneration of Finsbury Park and a number of high-value, complex disposals for the Ministry of Defence and the Metropolitan Police Service.

Paul Paling, Michelmores’ head of real estate, comments: “Patrick’s appointment is a significant coup for the firm. His experience brings a new dimension to the team’s existing and well-established expertise, and will build upon the recent successes the team has enjoyed. We are delighted to welcome Patrick as we continue to expand our real estate capabilities—watch this space!”

Patrick adds: “I have watched the rapid growth of Michelmores’ real estate team over the past year and am delighted to be joining a team with such an exciting portfolio of work.”
