Digital and business solutions firm appoints chief operating officer

Morae has appointed Carla Mendy as its new chief operating officer, marking what the firm describes as a significant step in its progression as an AI-led legal solutions provider. The company said the hire will support its unified, solutions-centric approach for more than 1,500 in-house legal teams and law firms worldwide, enabling clients ‘to move faster, work smarter’ and tackle complex challenges.

Mendy joins with more than 18 years’ experience across legal tech, managed services, cyber security and finance, previously serving as COO – and interim UK CEO – at Ecko, with earlier roles at Cisco, TMF Group and Symantec. Her track record in scaling multi-region teams and improving operational performance has, according to the firm, enhanced client experience and strengthened governance in prior organisations.

Based in London, she will lead global operations, delivery excellence and organisational effectiveness at Morae. Mendy said she was ‘delighted to join Morae at such a transformative stage,’ adding that the company’s blend of MorAI, best-in-class technology and expert talent offers ‘huge opportunity to truly transform legal business management’.

Morae chairman and CEO Shahzad Bashir said the appointment is well timed as the third addition to the executive team this year, calling Mendy’s mix of operational discipline and client-centric focus the ‘ideal’ fit to support the firm’s next phase of growth and innovation.
