Midlands practice mfg Solicitors has appointed experienced corporate solicitor Matt Smith as a partner in its Birmingham office. He will work closely with partner and head of department Clare Lang to advise businesses, owner-managers and investors on transactions, acquisitions, disposals, restructures, joint ventures and wider corporate advisory matters.

Lang welcomed the appointment, noting that Smith ‘has successfully represented a variety of national and international businesses over the last 15 years’. She added that he brings ‘exceptional credentials’ and will be ‘a tremendous asset for us and our clients’.

Smith said he had joined the firm because it is ‘an ambitious, growing firm with a clear vision for the future’. He highlighted mfg’s strong reputation, excellent client base and supportive culture, calling it ‘the perfect place to take the next step in my career’.
