Liverpool set Exchange Chambers, which has 192 members including 16 silks, has launched a mentoring programme to inspire people from all backgrounds to pursue a career in the law
The programme was developed in association with L8 A Better Place, a community development project in Toxteth.

Some 22 barristers from the chambers will be assigned a student from the local community and act as mentors over an 18-month period with fortnightly contact and practical experience at court.

Criminal barrister Stella Hayden said: ‘We want the composition of Chambers to reflect the community we represent.’
