SRA & Bar Council criticise Legal Services Board

The Legal Services Board (LSB) came under fire this week. The Solicitors Regulation Authority, responding to a consultation on the LSB’s business plan, said: “It is not clear that the organisation as a whole has sufficient knowledge or experience of the regulation of professions and the conduct of business regulation.” Earlier, the Bar Council criticised accused the LSB of “mission creep” and of spending too much money on research “of questionable quality”, such as £21,367 researching the cab rank rule.
