LNB News: IPO launches consultation on list of exceptions in CDPA 1988

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has launched a consultation on the Copyright (Free Public Showing or Playing) (Amendment) Regulations 2016, which removed ‘film’ from the list of exceptions to copyright infringement in section 72 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA 1988).

Lexis®Library update: The Secretary of State is obligated to review the changes within five years of the regulation and will publish a report once the consultation has closed. The deadline for submitting views is 5pm on 13 August 2021.
