Charity LawCare celebrated its 20th birthday this month with a conference, Making Mental Health Matter, held on Mental Health Awareness Day.

Speakers explained what it currently known about mental health in the legal profession, shared examples of initiatives and programmes, and spoke of their own personal experiences. LawCare has launched a booklet, ‘Look After Others’, downloadable from its website, www.lawcare.org.uk.

Elizabeth Rimmer, LawCare CEO, said she hoped the booklet would ‘help organisations start to create a culture that encourages people to be open and honest about their mental health, and to access the support they may need’.
