Solicitors have until 20 November to comment on Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) proposals to deal with the European Insurance Distribution Directive when it comes into force next year.

Firms carrying on insurance distribution activities need to change how they work from 23 February 2018. Those working in personal injury, conveyancing of probate are most likely to be affected, for example, by arranging after-the-event insurance in a personal injury matter or defective title insurance in a conveyance.

The SRA consultation, Insurance Distribution Directive, can be found on the SRA website.
