Deputy PM Nick Clegg has announced new proposals on flexible parental leave which could see fathers taking over childcare after six weeks.

These build on Harriet Harman’s proposals, to be introduced in April, which allow parents to share a total of 46 weeks of leave if the mother returns to work after 20 weeks.
