The Court of Justice of the European Union has given a preliminary ruling concerning the interpretation of Art 12 of Council Regulation (EEC) 1612/68 (on freedom of movement for workers within the Community, as amended by Council Regulation (EEC) 2434/92) (Reg 1612/68), and of Parliament and Council Directive (EC) 2004/38 (on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the member states, amending Reg 1612/68) in relation to a claim for housing assistance.
