Enable a Minister of the Crown to impose specific duties on public authorities to ensure better performance by the public authorities listed of their duty to have due regard to the following matters:
– eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct that is prohibited by or under the Equality Act 2010,
– advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it; and
– foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it.
Require public authorities to prepare and publish objectives, setting out what they intend to achieve in order to further the aims of the duty, and to publish information demonstrating their compliance with the duty. Grant schools a full term in which to prepare.
