An ‘entirely neutral approach’ will be taken on employment tribunal (ET) composition, the senior president of tribunals, Sir Keith Lindblom, has decided

This means the decision whether to sit alone or sit with a panel will be made by the tribunal judge in each case.

Sir Keith published his response to the consultation, ‘ET and EAT panel composition’, this week along with the accompanying draft practice direction, due to take effect on 29 October.
