Bar chairman Desmond Browne QC has called for creative solutions to the financial uncertainties facing the publicly funded Bar. Addressing the annual conference of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks (IBC), Browne praised clerks and practice managers for their constructive thinking, and invited them to consider direct access and block contracting as possible solutions to the issue of access to legal representation.
