A unique gathering of commercial courts from five continents took place in London on 5 May. Lord Thomas, the Lord Chief Justice, invited the courts to meet and to form a Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts. Senior judges, including Chief Justices from 16 jurisdictions, attended. The aim is to share best practice, support stability and prosperity worldwide through the rule of law, and to support effective dispute resolution in developing countries.
