This year’s Bar Conference, to be held in Birmingham on 7 June, will feature a discussion on Bar culture with Baroness Harriet Harman KC, ahead of the publication of her independent report into bullying and harassment at the Bar.
The Gauke review of sentencing and Leveson review of the criminal courts, both due to report before the conference, will be discussed by an expert panel. Lord Norton of Louth will unpack the value of public inquiries, a timely subject given the imminent Post Office Horizon IT inquiry report. The keynote address will be delivered by the Lady Chief Justice, Baroness Carr.
