Solicitors disciplined

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has imposed sanctions on 15 solicitors for non-payment of premiums for insurance from the assigned risks pool. A further 15 solicitors await hearings, and proceedings against other solicitors are currently being lodged.

Five of the solicitors have been suspended indefinitely, and their suspensions cannot be lifted until they have paid their premiums in full. Two of the solicitors have been suspended for six months, another four have received fines totalling more than £20,000 and four solicitors have been reprimanded. All of the solicitors were also required to pay costs.
