SLS elects President Burrows

Former law commissioner Professor Andrew Burrows of All Souls College, Oxford, has become the elected president of the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS) for the academic year 2015-2016. President Burrows said he wanted to focus on two issues during his presidency: the “woeful decline” in the quality of legislation, which is now “so unclear and complex that, in some areas, even lawyers and judges struggle to work out what the law is”; and the rich variety of important legal research taking place, which he wants to highlight.
