Elborne Mitchell have announced that Russell Carmedy has joined the company as a partner. Carmedy is an expert in M&A, private equity and public takeover bids, and his arrival will continue to expand the company’s already established corporate and regulatory expertise.

Russell joins Elborne Mitchell from Proskauer Rose where he was a partner in its global transactional and private equity practices. Prior to this, he was partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s London office. Russell was responsible for overseeing this merger and has throughout his career advised clients on a number of both UK and international M&A matters. He graduated from Bristol University School of Law in 1981.

Russell is also active in the area of corporate governance, working with directors to resolve issues relevant to their fiduciary duties and regulatory obligations, and he frequently advises clients with respect to issues arising from the interaction of the legal regimes of the EU, UK and US.

Tim Brentnall, senior partner at Elborne Mitchell says: “Elborne Mitchell is always looking to recruit the best talent in the industry, and we felt that Russell with his wealth of experience, renowned expertise and market leading knowledge of M&A transactions would be an ideal addition to the team. Russell’s appointment will help continue the expansion of Elborne Mitchell’s global corporate and regulatory platform and provide our clients with a broader range of legal disciplines and practice groups. We look forward to working with Russell going forward.”
