Charity appeals for volunteers from legal profession

The charity Working Families is appealing to lawyers and paralegals for help through volunteering and donations. More than 2,600 working parents and carers called the charity’s free legal helpline last year with calls ranging from redundancy to maternity discrimination. The charity’s team includes six pro bono lawyers and paralegals and four part-time trained advisors. It is helped by Wragge & Co, Simmons & Simmons, Matrix Chambers, Law Society Charity, London Legal Support Trust, Pinsent Masons and Freshfields. For further information, contact Leon.Clowes@workingfamilies.org.uk.
