New insurance policy for homebuyers

Legal indemnity insurance provider First Title Insurance plc has launched an insurance policy for homebuyers. The policy aims to protect against the risk of planning breaches by sellers, in light of the Localism Act 2011, s 124, which gives local planning authorities new powers to seek a planning enforcement order after the immunity period has lapsed where there has been deliberate concealment “to any extent”.
