mfg Solicitors has strengthened its nationally recognised agriculture and rural affairs department with the appointment of Neil Harrison as a partner, based in the firm’s Worcester office. Harrison rejoins the firm after more than 12 years working as in-house legal counsel in the private sector.
Harrison originally joined mfg Solicitors as a trainee in 2006 and progressed to associate before moving in-house, including roles at Farmfoods and property management company M Core. He brings extensive experience advising on farm tenancies, country estates, property transactions and wider rural business matters, working closely with partner and head of department Alexandra Phillips.
Alexandra Phillips (pictured, right) said it was ‘a tremendous coup for us to have Neil back in the team’, adding that he ‘knows the industry inside out and brings a rare private sector experience back to the firm’. She described him as ‘a first-class solicitor’ whose experience would ‘add weight to our client offering’.
Harrison said returning to the firm was ‘an easy decision’, adding: ‘The team has an exceptional reputation for its advice to farmers and landowners not just in the Midlands, but across the whole UK. It’s an exciting time to join an expanding team.’
