The Legal Ombudsman opened for business this week, offering consumers a new avenue for resolving complaints about solicitors, barristers and other lawyers.

The service is free, and is funded by a levy on lawyers. Chief Ombudsman, Adam Sampson says: “We want to work closely with lawyers and their regulators to raise standards. We want to help prevent complaints and make the legal and justice systems work better.”
