Nominations are now open for the 14th Legal Aid Practitioners Group Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards (the LALYs). The nomination period ends 25 April. The awards ceremony will be held in London on 7 July. There are 12 awards in total including Children’s Rights, Public Law, Family Legal Aid, Mental Health, and Criminal Defence. Supporters can also now become Friends of LALY 16 by making a donation towards the Legal Aid Newcomer award. LAPG director Carol Storer says the LALYs “celebrate those lawyers who go the extra mile for their clients”.
