Kingsley Napley has appointed Silvia Devecchi as a partner in its family & divorce practice, where she will provide specialist advice to Italian and international clients. She joins from Mishcon de Reya, having previously worked at Vardags, where she was latterly a partner and head of the Cambridge office.
Devecchi advises on all aspects of family law, with particular expertise in complex, high value disputes involving international families. Her practice covers both children and financial matters, including jurisdictional challenges, non disclosure and the valuation and division of business interests, as well as cases involving corporate structures, trusts and assets across multiple jurisdictions. She also advises on nuptial and cohabitation agreements and on the intersection of family and immigration law, including relocation and child abduction matters.
Sital Fontenelle, head of Kingsley Napley’s family & divorce team, said: ‘I am delighted Silvia has agreed to join us,’ adding that ‘her international experience and expertise are a great fit for us and she will be a fantastic addition to our team’.
Devecchi said: ‘I am thrilled to be joining the highly respected Kingsley Napley Family team,’ noting that ‘post-Brexit, cross-border disputes involving European parties and assets can be trickier to navigate’ and that ‘it is important to be familiar with the challenges involved and have experience of achieving constructive solutions for clients and their families’.
