Judges are to be given a 2% pay rise, backdated to 1 April, the government has said
The increase was recommended by the Senior Salaries Review Body and is in line with the senior civil service and armed forces. Teachers, doctors, police and other public sector workers have also received a salary boost.
Lord Burnett, the Lord Chief Justice, and Lord Justice Lindblom, Vice-President of Tribunals, said the offer was accepted on the basis there would be progress on the government’s commitment to pursue pensions reform.
