Subject access requests code of practice is published

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published a code of practice on how to deal with subject access requests from individuals for personal data under the Data Protection Act 1988. The ICO handled more than 6,000 complaints related to subject access requests in the last financial year, one-sixth of which related to money lenders. It will also be carrying out a “subject access request sweep” of websites later in the year.
