Fast-track financial remedies

Family money cases are set to speed up in the county court from 4 June, with the launch of the fast track procedure for financial remedy applications. From that date, applications for spousal and civil partner periodical payments, child periodical payments and variations may be dealt with under the fast track procedure. Writing in NLJ’s Civil Way this week, former District Judge Stephen Gold says: ‘The aim is to get the application determined at the first hearing which is to take place six to ten weeks from issue as against the 12 to 16 for the standard track.’
