Former New Zealand Privacy Commissioner John Edwards has been confirmed as the new Information Commissioner
Edwards, who practised law for 20 years, specialising in information law, begins his five-year term on 3 January. He will be paid £200,000 per year. He takes over the reins from Elizabeth Denham, who finished her term on 30 November. Paul Arnold, the ICO’s deputy chief executive, took on the role in the intervening period.
