Patent litigation expert joins firm's Frankfurt office

On 1 December, Dr Julia Schönbohm will join Linklaters’ dispute resolution division as a partner in the firm’s Frankfurt office. She joins from DLA Piper, where she established and headed the German patent litigation practice.

Julia is a highly regarded expert in cross-border patent infringement matters, advising on projects across all aspects of technology. She also advises on high-level trademark and competition law transactions.

Linklaters’ German senior partner Dr Carl-Peter Feick says: “Julia is a very experienced lawyer who has valuable sector knowledge and an excellent network. Her expertise in patent infringement proceedings will help us to develop our dispute resolution division further in line with the law firm’s growth in the field.”

Dr Rupert Bellinghausen, head of the German dispute resolution practice, concludes: “Julia is an excellent addition to our team. As we are expanding, our objective is to represent our clients in any significant cross-border court, arbitration and mediation proceeding. We are now also able to do so in patent litigation matters in Germany, an internationally important place of jurisdiction. This fits our global strategy perfectly.”

Julia says: “As innovation is the driver for growth and innovative enterprises are operating on an international scale, Linklaters’ clients seek cross-border advice. Linklaters offers the opportunity to be part of an outstanding, truly international team and to promote the German dispute resolution division by providing new momentum from the IP side. I am excited to take on these new challenges.”
