Just Costs Solicitors has appointed highly regarded costs lawyer Dominic Swallow as an Associate, based in their Chesterfield office.

Dominic, who joins from Century Costs Consultants, has considerable experience in almost all areas of costs and litigation funding. He is nationally acknowledged as an expert on costs and has considerable experience in lecturing and training, having spent the last six years as the principal lecturer on costs for Central Law Training Limited.

During his 15 years in the costs industry, Dominic has gained a wealth of extensive and diverse experience. While his practice has mainly been related to civil costs he has also gained experience of family costs (both publicly and privately funded), group litigation costs, commercial costs, criminal costs and tribunal costs, in particular in relation to actions within the Lands Tribunal. Dominic has dealt with bills of costs and costs litigation in all courts, up to the Supreme Court, in cases ranging from a few thousand pounds to in excess of £1m.

Paul Shenton, managing director at Just Costs, says: “Dominic is a well respected costs lawyer who brings further strength in depth to our expanding team. In addition to his fee earning work, Dominic will also be providing training both internally and externally. He is a welcome addition to the firm.”

Dominic says: “Having met with Paul and other members of the senior management team I am excited to join Just Costs at a time when there are so many exciting developments on the horizon.

“The costs world is in a state of flux at present but it is clear that Just Costs has a clear plan to navigate the forthcoming challenges. I am looking forward to assisting in the future development and growth of the firm.”
