A cyber-attack against CTS, a company which supplies IT to legal services companies, last week has left property sales in limbo since, with about 80 law firms affected

In a statement on its website, CTS said: ‘We continue to work around the clock with the assistance of third-party experts. Whilst we are confident that we will be able to restore services, we are unable to give a precise timeline for full restoration. We will continue to communicate directly with those of our clients which are impacted by the service outage, providing regular updates.’

The Council of Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) advised its members this week to alert lawyers acting on the other side of any relevant transactions, keep clients informed of any disruption and maintain secure records of any action taken.
