DAC Beachcroft’s head of strategic litigation, Andrew Parker, has been appointed the solicitor member to the Civil Justice Council (CJC) by the Lord Chancellor. The appointment, which runs for three years from 31 July 2014, is made on merit. Parker’s previous appointments in the realm of civil justice reform include being a member of the panel of assessors to Jackson LJ’s Review of Civil Litigation Costs. The CJC is responsible for reviewing the civil justice system, advising on change and procedural reform and considering how to make the system more accessible, fair and efficient.
