Solicitors have been asked for their views on the ban on payments to introducers for legal aid clients, as well as proposals to cut red tape. The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) proposals include: simplifying compliance officer approval: removing the requirement for firms to carry out reserved legal activities; guidance on the recording of non-material breaches; and alternatives to client accounts. The SRA consultation, Improving regulation: proportionate and targeted measures, runs until 11 June.
