Former justice secretary Robert Buckland KC has joined London firm Payne Hicks Beach on a part-time basis as head of policy and senior counsel. 

Buckland, who served as  Lord Chancellor from 2019 to 2021 and remains a Conservative MP for South Swindon, was a practising criminal barrister before entering politics.

Dominic Crossley, head of dispute resolution at Payne Hicks Beach, said Sir Robert’s ‘unique insight and experience will be of significant value to the firm and its clients’.
