Bar writes open letter to A-G of Pakistan

The Bar Council has written an open letter to Salman Aslam Butt, the Attorney-General of Pakistan, expressing concerns over the killing of the lawyer Rashid Rehman, and reports of violence against lawyers in Pakistan. Nicholas Lavender QC, Bar chair, says: “We must always remember our colleagues in other jurisdictions where the rule of law is under threat...We support the right of Pakistani lawyers to represent their clients free from physical attack and fear of persecution.”
