In brief

The Bar Standards Board (BSB) has launched a consultation on its Equality and Diversity Policy and Action Plan 2007–08. The plan sets out the BSB’s ideas for improving access to the Bar from a diverse cross-section of society, and aims to promote policies which encourage diversity and equality of opportunity within the profession. The core objectives identified in the plan include ensuring the BSB conducts its regulatory activities fairly and in accordance with anti-discrimination good practice. The consultation is at www.barstandardsboard.org.uk and closes on 4 January 2008.
